Job Summary - Implements policies and procedures to ensure smooth and efficient gaming operations within assigned poker room in accordance with Nevada Lottery Commission’s procedures and internal controls of gaming enterprise.
Duties & Responsibilities - Must adhere to Racing Corporation of Nevada’s policies and procedures; supervise dealers and oversees and directs them in the operation and conduct of games; ensures compliance with Nevada’s Gaming Commission regulations and the company’s objectives, procedures and internal controls; assures dealers performance is in accordance with Nevada’s Gaming Commission procedures and attendant regulations, Nevada’s internal controls and the rules and procedures of the game; greet players; answer phones; keep poker area clean; rate players actions; comp rooms; comp food; conflict resolution (player/player); train dealers; train dual-rates; track game action; fill table banks; issue rain checks; monitor beverage services and charges; monitor consumption of alcohol; page players on list; announce empty seats; invite new players; deal poker; open and close room; answer questions from prospective players; run promotions and tournaments; maintain the players list; set the dealer rotation; log and post employee hours; communicate with other departments; be in a position to see everything; responsible for the poker keys; explain the poker kiosk; maintain the games log book; yearly dealer evaluations; attend meetings; order food for players; fill out daily paperwork; counsel and document dealers; change the shufflers; field player complaints and suggestions; player ejection box; initiates and/or recommends disciplinary action for dealer infractions or policy violations occurring within the poker room; ensures assigned games are properly and sufficiently equipped; promotes positive public/employee relations at all times; maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility; performs all other related and compatible duties; Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Must be proficient in dealing poker and have supervisory experience; must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; must be able to obtain a Nevada’s Gaming License; requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds; requires frequent walking, standing, and bending; requires the ability to make decisions in stressful and diverse situations; requires motivation and initiative to meet the expectations of self and upper management; requires a professional appearance, attitude and demeanor; requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with casino patrons and personnel; requires the ability to lead and manage others; requires the ability to interact effectively with co-workers; the ability to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures; the ability to accept constructive criticism; requires dependable attendance and the ability to appear for work on time; requires the ability to follow directions.
