Job Summary - Assures proper and safe preparation of menu items, meeting or exceeding customer expectations and in accordance with Health Department regulations, as well as company vision, mission and objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities - Prepare food items that meet established specifications; operate all equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and established policies/procedures; maintain highest quality and appearance of all food prepared and served; ensure that presentation is in accordance with standards; recipes and procedures; maintain and stock adequate supplies for daily forecast; immediately communicate guest concerns to server, supervisor or manager; keep general work areas, equipment and storage units clean and sanitized; chill, store and rotate (FIFO) food items properly; practice proper sanitation and food handling procedures, including frequent hand washing; follow all Health Department food safety and sanitation policies. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Strong guest service and communication skills are required; must follow Health Department regulations regarding how food items are prepared, stored and rotated (FIFO); follow established safety guidelines; immediately report hazards and maintenance issues to supervisor or manager; must have experience working in a high-volume kitchen; must have a knowledge of weights and measures as related to kitchen work; must have knowledge of Health Department standards as related to kitchen work; must hold a current Health Card. Requires standing and walking throughout the kitchen areas for up to 8 hours; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; requires bending, stooping, twisting, climbing stairs and reaching from floor to above shoulders; work in an area with food smells, varying noise levels, carpeted and hard surface floors, varying temperatures; good hand and eye dexterity; requires the ability to follow directions from a supervisor; requires dependable attendance and the ability to appear for work on time; requires the ability to follow directions; requires the ability to interact effectively with co-workers; requires the ability to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures; requires the ability to accept constructive criticism. |
